Taylor Swift – Midnights: I didn’t listen a lot this week. I’m hearing more cracks and fewer pleasant surprises than I heard on early listens to her best albums. I hope that changes.

A Silver Mt. Zion – Horses in the Sky: I was out of town and I missed my dog, so it’s no wonder I ended up with the line about dogs from “God Bless Our Dead Marines” stuck in my head. Then I just kept listening and remembering why I love this record. Horses in the Sky is one of the best albums I’ve heard in the past 20 years.

Prince – For You: Bob and I spent a lot of time this week listening to For You. Our reactions are posted as our first conversation.
