Faithless – Reverence and Sunday 8PM: I completely dismissed Faithless back in the ‘90s, so when I read about the passing of Maxi Jazz, I took a belated listen. There’s nothing groundbreaking, but they would have been a good way to pass time between Massive Attack releases 25 years ago.

Kendrick Lamar – Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers: The NY Times published a great piece on Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free, which inspired me to pick up Mr. Morale again. The more time I spend letting the record unfold, the more I’m convinced of its greatness.

Sault – Untitled (God): I think I’m finally done listening to what might be the worst album I heard in 2022.

Taylor Swift – Midnights: I decided that “Karma” was maybe the worst song of Taylor’s career, then I read Justin Kurto’s interview with Sarah Jacoby in Vulture. I’m not sure I agree with Dr. Jacoby, but she makes me reconsider my position.

Taylor Swift – Fearless (Taylor’s Version): This record is a gaping hole in my knowledge of Taylor, but her talent was already clearly apparent. I’ve flagged a list of songs to spend some time with.
